  1. The pro-horse slaughter side will stop at nothing to get their way, including making a false video to promote their interests. Why they do this is difficult to understand. The 1971 Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro act says on the first page: “b) “wild free-roaming horses and burros” means all unbranded and unclaimed horses and burros on public lands of the United States;”

Whenever you see or hear anyone using the word “feral,” you can be sure this is the propaganda of Public Lands Ranchers or frackers at work.

The horse shown in this top video is an older domestic horse, as can be seen in the perfectly trimmed hooves and long teeth. This is the lengths these people will go to — letting a domestic horse suffer when they could have given it Banamine or some other pain-killing drug — while trying to pass it off as a wild horse. This is disgusting.

I have been watching photos and videos all year long and have not seen one single starving wild horse. Boyd Spratling should not be involved in the wild free-roaming horses and burros at all.

We used to have over 2 million in the wild, and now we are down to just about 1% left on the range. It’s time to stop the round ups and start letting the herd numbers recover. With as few as we have left, we do not need to be using any type of birth control right now. Only one foal was born this year on Assateague Island. This is unacceptable.

  2. When we consider such things as reasoning, common sense, responsibility, and ethical conduct, it is not found within the BLM or the Wild Horse and Burro Program. What we do find is a lack of ethics, lack of responsibility, lack of knowledge about both horses and wild horses on Public Lands, and oh yes, the Scam for Taxpayer Money. Yes, we follow the money once again.

To review a video by a Wild Horse and Burro Board member is to also acknowledge what Pro-Slaughter people’s primary reasoning is and has been over the decades – so with a thumb in their belt, their eyelids narrowed out of bigotry and ignorance combined with hatred, they drawl-out this statement:

“We’re saving the wild horses lives from their over-population, where they are starving and drought stricken. We want them in temporary storage at BLM corrals, and then we want them sent to slaughter to save taxpayer’s money. . .”
Yes, if your mind screamed “WHAT” join the crowd of many wild horse advocates. Reasoning and Common Sense, with a little ethics, does not exist here – Greed is what does.

So we have ranchers (who obtain subsides in the millions from grazing permits) on the Wild Horse and Burro Board making decisions about America’s Wild Horses; We have BLM employees (if their bank accounts checked, or their hidden accounts found, remain quite prosperous as well); then we have private BLM contractors, who reap millions from the roundups and storage of wild horses taken off of Public Lands; then we have the slaughter industry, who at taxpayers’ expense of the roundups, the storage lots, etc., profit millions off of taxpayers once again – Yes, we have an ongoing SCAM, so there is no surprise that these ignorant bigots lie and coerce whenever possible – Yes, sometimes the obvious is obvious – and every taxpayer should be extremely mad at such an obvious SCAM —

  3. Besides some of the comments made by ranchers, and Boyd Spratling, BLM Wild Horse and Burro Advisory board member, I could not believe my eyes when I got to the end of the video and saw that Protect the Harvest and UNITED HORSEMEN made and produced this video!

BLM’s public stance is against sending wild horses and burros to slaughter. So why is the advisory board stacked with people who want horse slaughter started again in the USA? I’ve watched the live-stream of the advisory board meetings for the past few years and went to one in Sacramento in March 2014. Throughout all these meetings, horse slaughter is either directly mentioned or alluded to as an option for what to do with the wild horses.

Boyd Spratling’s term expires on Jan 27, 2015 and Callie Hendrickson’s term also expires that day – both are supporters of horse slaughter; most likely both will be replaced by more horse slaughter advocates.

I find it appalling that this board is stacked with ranchers and horse slaughter advocates and not one person on the board is an environmentalist or an expert on horse welfare.

See whose on the board and when their term expires:

  5. This YouTube on Horses in Crisis by Protect the Harvest is an extremely prejudiced account and only tells greedy people’s side of the story. It reveals nothing about how the wild horses are being set up by people who refuse to share the land and resources with the wild horses. I certainly wish that the horses themselves could tell their story, or that the land itself could speak to counter the words and biased selection of images and accounts that these hypocrits have presented in regard to the wild horses. Please go to http://www.thewildhorseconspiracy.org and check out my article under Resources as well as my book The Wild Horse Conspiracy, 2014 updated version and support the efforts to reign in the wild horse enemies who are bend on absolutely crushing the wild horses and their human supporters through such lies and distortions, such tunnel vision and self-glorification as is presented in this YouTube. Dare to stand up to these purveyors of complacency and stick-in-the-muds. They must not control the future of the wild horses, their land and freedom, nor continue to destroy life on Earth because of their backward attitudes and lifestyles.

  6. As Aphroditi said ….”Boyd Spratling’s term expires on Jan 27, 2015 and Callie Hendrickson’s term also expires that day – both are supporters of horse slaughter; most likely both will be replaced by more horse slaughter advocates.

I find it appalling that this board is stacked with ranchers and horse slaughter advocates and not one person on the board is an environmentalist or an expert on horse welfare.”

Is there any plan in place to remedy that situation? ….. Is any horse knowledgeable person applying for these positions?

  7. For a video that claims to “bring facts, reason and a special perspective to an issue dominated by emotion” this one certainly does pull out all the emotional spin it possibly can.
