#TAKEACTION Comments are needed to save wild horses and due by Monday June 15th

PM BLM Nevada Roundup

The BLM’s HORRIBLE project goal is to maintain a population of only native 25-30 wild horses within the Water Canyon portion of the Antelope HMA. The current estimated population is only 66 wild horses.

Under the proposal, the BLM would capture the horses through bait and water trapping or by helicopter roundup, and treat and release only 25-30 wild horses back into the project area. Mares selected for release would be treated with PZP-22, a time-release pesticide for birth control (made from slaughterhouse pig ovaries) with an expected efficacy of about two years, despite the fact that it sterilizes after multiple use. The mares would be re-treated every 20-24 months and monitored to determine treatment effectiveness.

Despite the current low population, BLM trumps up allegations of “excess wild horses” to justify a waste of tax dollars and permanently remove traumatized herd members by offering them to the public through a trap site adoption.

  1. Do not reduce the number of horses to only 25-30. Stop helicopter roundups and bait and trap. Just stop this!

  2. He must stop the insantiy there are better solutions
For our wild horses….to many horrendous acts allowed by our government….stop killing animals…..for policial reasons…..

  3. there are changes coming across the land which threaten what we have valued as the American dream. The wild horses have long been held up as a symbol for our freedoms and our liberty as individuals and a nation. They fought alongside our soldiers in every major war recorded in history into the current century! Yet as our government today displaces and sends them off to be murdered we stand back and wonder when will it stop? It will not stop if you and I do not stand up now and say NO MORE!!!! Take necessary action and join PROTECT MUSTANGS TODAY become dedicated to the protection of the wild horses and tell your legislators trap and bait their BLM!!!! They must be held accountable to the deaths, injuries and profits of so many……

  4. The same repetitive BS plan of BLM of reducing horse numbers by roundups and sterilization until they are no more. Yet our BLM continues to regurgitate the words, “we care about the wild horses”…

Please stop this plan from happening and let all of these horses run wild without disturbing them and their environment. Thank you very much.

Please let these horses run free in their environment and do not disturb them by carrying out this horrible plan. Thank you very much.

  7. To Whom it May Concern:

I simply do NOT understand why the Horses are being victimized!!
They helped BUILD our country and should be left to run FREE as they
    always have!!
    PLEASE leave them FREE!!!!

    Nanci A Steeb

  8. No more slaughter house , live exports or BLM round ups of Americans Horses!! It’s Appauling an evil how these creatures are treated!!

  9. The BLM is causing our wild horses to become extinct soon. Against the wishes of the US citizens has sent thousands out of the country to slaughter and extreme abuse. The BLM is NOT qualified to care for our wild horses and is not listening to the US citizens who are against this horrible crime. The BLM is obviously corrupt and on the side of corporations who want the land for themselves…such as cattle, oil and coal. The damage that is being done to our horses is not reversable, it is PERMANENT !! STOP STOP STOP !!!!!!!!! The BLM needs to be removed and slaughtered.. it is no longer doing its duties as it should. Animals are sentient beings and have rights !!!

  10. Leave the wild horses alone!! Stop overfeeding gluttony. There’s too many fast food restaurants and waste! Plant based diet!!

  11. Why are horses being killed and slaughtered? Dam it let them live free in peace!!!!!

  12. Please share the earth.
Rich and powerful nation, USA should be the leader in the world in showing compassion.
BLM should be helping the voiceless, the weak, the poor horses.

  13. STOP THE ROUNDUPS OF OUR WILD HORSES AND BURROS! These are our lands that should be for our wild equine, not for privately owned livestock to graze on. Please consider the use of PZP instead of the cruel and unethical roundups to help with population control.

  14. Start listening to US citizens and dismiss this plan to exterminate the wild horses. They deserve to be wild and free. This is a waste of tax dollars. As a taxpayer I don’t recollect consenting to this horrific action. Leave the horses alone. This is not management, this is a deliberate and systematic destruction fueled by cattlemen, gas, and oil. Thank You

  15. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH LEAVE the Horses alone , if you are that kill hungry go join the military. STOP Killing our animals

  16. It is not logical to cut a herd of 66 wild horses by more than half, representing a total lack of genetic diversity when the horses are not the problem. You as an agency are in too thick with cattlemen who do not simply want to lease the land for grazing or share the land. Rather they want to take over that land. You as an agency are instrumental in stealing this public land from the American taxpayers, eradicating the wild horses which you are mandated to protect, and selling out to special interests. Get out of the horse eradication business and protect those horses and that land as you are supposed to do. Get the cattle off of it.

  17. Please save these beautiful horses, they have every right to live, they have no voice, we are speaking for them thankyou.

  18. This is insane. These horse have roamed the land and are a part of our heritage. They have a right to live and be free. STOP THIS MADNESS>

  19. stop shipping our horses to mexico for slaughter and plates of Japanese and French.

  20. these mustangs belong to the American People. I don’t remember giving you permission to remove any of them from public lands, which translates to MY land. Paid for by my tax money. I want these mustangs left on my land !!!!!!!!!!!

  21. What in the world ! Do you people even look at what is best not only for the horses but the land?? ROUNDING up the horses weakins the blood line destroys familys and is just plain cruel to the horses.. You need to stop being so greedy and do the right thing for our horses our land our planet. STOP ROUNDING UP OUR WILD
    HORSES!!!!! THE PEOPLE HAVE SPOKEN

  22. If I saw anyone, and I mean anyone in public do what you people do to these horses, I would beat the living hell out of them. No one not ANY one has the right to treat these animals in any way, shape.or form!, the way the government does! I am disgusted with our sorry, stupid people in our government. Dont EVER let me catch anyone, in the government.employ or out, abuse any horse or.they most certainly will hear from me. I don’t believe in PZP! Use it on your own selves, as your kind needs it more!

  23. There’s obviously no one who works for the BLM who has a heart or knows anything about horses, donkeys & burros. Otherwise these constant round-ups, sterilization wouldn’t be happening. And what happens to the others who aren’t released? We all the answer! And it isn’t nice.

Please stop BLM! Otherwise we will have no horses, donkeys & burros left. We have plenty of land to share between horses & livestack. Dedicate lands for our horses, donkeys & burros & let them live freely without fear from humans. They will control there own herds…naturally.

  24. It’s time to face the facts. I love horses myself, I grew up with them and I have several right now. The reality is this, they don’t belong in the wild in this country. They aren’t native, we put them where they are. They aren’t wild either, they are feral meaning they are descended from domesticated animals. They are hard on the landscape and they out compete the native wildlife. Due to the fact that they didn’t evolve here they have no natural predators to manage their numbers at appropriate levels. The fact that our government actually passed a law to protect a non native species is totally asinine. Now they expect the BLM to manage these animals at appropriate levels with a very small budget and extreme limitations on what methods they can use. Mean while, projects that actually warrant spending money get scrapped because they can’t afford it. It’s time to face the facts, horses are domestic animals in this country and that is where they belong. Yes they are beautiful and it’s neat to see them in the wild but the way they are being managed right now is an absolute joke.

  25. Please listen to the public and leave the wild horses, donkeys and burros alone,we need to keep them for future generations!!!! The blm rounding them up isn’t right, and we as taxpayers should be heard loud and clear!!!! It’s about time the gov pays attention to what the taxpayers have to say!!!! Also keep them all here in the United States!!!! Don’t send any for slaughter or to another poor country for hard labor and a miserable life!!!!
