Huge fracking project in Wyoming affects wild horses and needs comments

The Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) for the Continental Divide-Creston (CD-C) Natural Gas Development Project is now available for a 30-day public availability period.

Project Background
BP American Production Co. and approximately 20 other companies propose to develop up to 8,950 additional natural gas wells within a 1.1 million acre project area. Development would occur over the next 15 years with about 47,200 acres of new disturbance. An estimated 12.02 trillion cubic feet of natural gas worth $45.6 billion would be produced and 167.3 million barrels of condensate would generate revenues of $6.4 billion over the 30-40 year life of the project. More than 4,000 wells have been developed in the project area since the 1950s with approximately 49,218 acres of surface disturbance, including nearly 8,500 acres of long-term disturbance.

NEPA Status: The DEIS was released for public comment on Dec. 7, 2012, and ended on March 6, 2013. Approximately 8,700 DEIS comments were received.

The FEIS is available online at:

  1. Can you people leave the land alone can you people leave the horses alone can you people leave wildlife alone…no more Fracking stop it

  2. I and millions of voting tax paying Americans want our wild protected. We want our public lands free of cattle and environment destruction by big oil. These lands and the wildlife that inhabit them are ours. The American people demand the dismantling of the BLM and its entire restructure. We want our wild horses, wolves, grizzly bears and bison protected.

  3. The truth is out as to why the BLM is murdering our equines. STOP this and return the land to the equines as the federal government states it belongs to them.

  4. In the day and age of directional drilling it is unforgivable that the BLM has allowed one road and one pad for each well!
Developers of oil are limited to one hole per forty acres drilling multiple holes from one pad and natural gas has been allowed to wreak havoc while the BLM stood by and did nothing, again.
    This is criminal.

  5. Stop the round up, it is unnessary there are fewer horses than you think, stop the PZP, very dangerous and causes foal deformities, and stop the fracking, very dangerous.

  6. I am so sick of hearing about people messing with America’s Wild Horses! They are America’s Wild Horses meant to be free and protected! Our tax dollars are supposed to assure this so why are people making money off our land with free range cattle ect… The land should be reserved for America’s Wild Horses to run free! Leave them alone they are supposed to be Wild! Not sterilzed or filled with birth control! That is stupid and wrong!!! Protect Our Wild Horses on Our and Their land like you are paid to do!!!

  7. Fracking, no way……..I have just concluded that BLM is out of control, causes unrest in public groups that are for the wellness of wild life or animals. Fracking is a cruel thing to do the a mammal, moreless, fracking on a wild animal. I’d love to “terminate” the person who heads the entire BLM operation. Please, be very careful who you place in the presidential chair as president of the United States. I do believe that BLM is heading to control that person who sits as President of the United States, for unjust reasons upon humanity or animals.

Suspiciously, how BLM still haven’t gotten around to providing SHADE for the horses and burros. I mean, some BLM facilities do provide SHADE partially on their land, but the majority do not have proper SHADE for our American Horses and Burros.
