Red Alert: Save Wild Mustangs named Freedom & Friend before the 4th of July!

(public domain video & photo)

Freedom (#8527) is a 5-year-old wild mare from the Jackson Mountains in Nevada. She deserves to go to loving a home with another wild mare who will be her buddy for life. Freedom was not born to be domesticated. She was born to be wild. Now she needs to be saved from an uncertain future due to budget cuts and that could mean slaughter!

Fill out the BLM’s Sale Application, write the complete freezemark numbers on the top for the wild horses you want to save then email or fax it in: https://blm-prod.opengov.ibmcloud.com/sites/blm.gov/files/wildhorse_howtoadopt_doc4.pdf)  and send it to wildhorse@blm.gov or fax to 202-912-7182.

Under a December 2004 amendment to the 1971 Wild Free Roaming Horses and Burros Act that should be repealed, wild horses and burros more than 10 years old – as well as younger animals that were passed over for adoption at least three times – are eligible for sale. The younger wild horses falling into this risky category are also known as “3-Strikers”. Purchasing a wild horse or burro for $25 means that ownership of the animal passes immediately from the Federal Government to the buyer.

If you have questions regarding the sales program, please e-mail wildhorse@blm.gov. If you have questions that aren’t getting answered or you find yourself in BLM’s red tape and need to problem-solve for solutions please send an email to Contact@ProtectMustangs.org

If you adopt Freedom you can return her if you don’t want her anymore. If you buy her you own her quickly and are done with BLM. Please consider buying Freedom with Friend (seen below). Thank you!

Here’s what BLM says about Freedom:

“Sex: Mare Age: 5 Years Height (in hands): 13.0

Necktag #: 8527 Date Captured: 07/05/12

Freezemark: 12618527 Signalment Key: HF1AAAAHE

Notes:
This is an untouched mare with no training.

Freedom is currently located in Palomino Valley, NV. For more information, please contact Jeb Beck at (775) 475-2222 or e-mail: j1beck@blm.gov .

This wild horse is available for sale or adoption. The adopter will inform the BLM if they are purchasing or adopting the animal. If the animal is purchased, not adopted, the adopter receives bill of sale to the animal upon completion of payment and final paperwork. If the animal is adopted, the animal is not eligible for title until the one year anniversary.”

Please buy Freedom with Friend so they can be buddies

Friend needs get out of the BLM’s clutches because her life is at risk now with talk of killing and slaughtering alleged “unadoptable” wild horses! We noticed a bump on Friend’s left cheek so her buyer needs to know about and be willing to help her if she needs it.

Pro-Slaughter lobbyists have weaseled their way into the offices of BLM, Department of Interior and America’s elected officials flashing their cash. Freedom and Friend are at risk and the clock is ticking. . . Please help save them!

Here is what BLM says about her:

“Sex: Mare Age: 5 Years Height (in hands): 13.1

Demand an Urgent Congressional Investigation and Head Count of all Wild Horses and Burros in Captivity and in Freedom

This Change.org petition is going to the US Senate, the US House of Representative and the President of the United States

On September 9, 2016, the Bureau of Land Management’s Wild Horse & Burro Advisory Board voted to kill the alleged 45,000 wild horses in tax-payer funded holding facilities and pastures. Do they want to cover-up the fraud that has been going on for years by killing the evidence?

Taxpayers and the general public want to know:

  • How much fraud has been committed regarding the wild horse and burro count on public land and in corrals?
  • How many budgets were approved using fraudulent information?
  • How many wild horses have gone to slaughter?
  • How many wild horses and burros have been shot and killed?
  • How many unbranded foals did the kill-buyers get to sell overseas?

We request an immediate Congressional investigation and independent head count, with photo IDs, of the alleged 45,000 wild horses and burros rounded up and held in captivity–at taxpayer expense.

In addition, we call for an immediate moratorium on roundups, transport and removals for a precise independent count, with photo ID, of all the federally protected wild horses and burros in the wild. This must occur before any more wild horses or burros are rounded up and/or transported, trapped, chipped, collared, removed, sterilized, given pesticide PZP, GonaCon®, SpayVac®, IUDs, etc., researched or experimented on in any manner to prevent further fraud against taxpayers as well as prevent abuse against wild horses and burros who should be protected from harassment and abuse by law.
We request a complete inventory of the wild horses and burros at the following locations:

  1. Every Herd Management Area
  2. Every Herd Area
  3. Every “Complex”
  4. Every temporary holding facility
  5. Every short-term holding facility
  6. Every long-term holding facility, pasture, eco-sanctuary, etc.
  7. Mustang Heritage Foundation facilities and all equids in their program
  8. TIP Trainers’ facilities
  9. All private contractors’ facilities
  10. Research facilities
  11. Any other locations where wild horses and burros are held in captivity and/or live on public land.

The public, voters of America and taxpayers are outraged and demand immediate action. Thank you.

Feds’ Oregon sterilization facility marks their mustangs for sale 5 times higher to discourage good homes from taking them

PM Hines Beauty #2809 Humbolt NV

Bureau of Land Management in Oregon thwarts placement of wild horses with sales rate hike

The same tax-payer funded facility who wants to partner with Oregon State University to conduct population control experiments on Americas pregnant wild mares is price gouging would be buyers of 3-Strikes wild horses to prevent them from going to good homes. The Bureau of Land Management (BoLM) in Oregon at the notorious Hines facility is asking 5 times as much money for each wild horse on the Internet Adoption. All the other facilities across the nation ask $25 or less.

Email your 2 senators and your congressional representative to let them know this is another example of BoLM’s lack of fair customer service. Include this blog post so it’s clear.

pm-hines-sell-mustangs-5-x-higher-vickie

This is just one example of many that show BoLM’s poor customer service in the adoption and 3-Strikes program.

It’s clear the BoLM doesn’t want these wild horses to be adopted into good homes as the law requires but would rather sell them by the truckload to horse traders for slaughter, kill them or give them to henchmen in the states counties and cities as Rep. Chris Stewart’s Amendment on the 2017 Appropriations Bill would allow for “work horses” and most would end up going to slaughter. Obviously that’s their goal.

Red Alert: 3-Strike Friends SUZIE KING (#2473) & SNOWBUNNIE (#2256 ) at-risk & need a forever home together

UPDATE August 25th: Suzie King and Snowbunnie have been saved and will live together!

PM PVC 3-Strikes SUZIE KING #2437 August 2016

Suzie King (#2437) is buddies with Snowbunnie (#2256). Please help them!

We met them both at Palomino Valley last Friday. They were super nice and friendly. The two friends have spent all of their lives in the captive pens since they were rounded up as tiny foals. Please help them stay together in a safe place away from horse-traders, kill-buyers and slaughter!

You can do a walk up purchase until August 22nd and save both wild mares at $50. for the pair.

Here is what the BoLM says about Suzie King:

Sex: Mare Age: 6 Years Height (in hands): 13

Rounded up as a foal, SNOWBUNNIE (#2256) spent 6 years in the captive pens, has 3-Strikes and is for sale!

PM SNOWBUNNIE #2256 From Silver King 3-Strikes

Filthy photo ruined her chance at adoption

SNOWBUNNIE (#2256) was rounded up in 2010 as a foal, separated from her mama, lost her freedom, family and Silver King herd forever. She has been forced to live without shade and shelter in the captive pens for 6 years. After being offered for adoption on the internet with horrible photos she was not “picked” and now she has become a 3-Strikes mustang. She is sale eligible. Just look how filthy SNOWBUNNIE is from living in the captive pens! In the wild she would be clean, happy and living in freedom as mother nature intended.

Now SNOWBUNNIE needs your help to share her post on Facebook, Twitter and by email so she can find a safe forever home. Networking can help her.

She looks willing to connect with people. Keep in mind she has spent most of her life on the other side of the bars from people. Poor baby might have forgot that life can be much better that this.

SNOWBUNNIE looks like an easy keeper and that’s exactly what the Kill-Buyers want. That way they will pay less money on feed to get the maximum dollars per pound at slaughter. This is Urgent! Help SNOWBUNNIE stay away from the KIll-Buyers!

Red Alert: Stop HENRY from being disposed of

PM Fallon 3 Strikes HENRY #9847 August 8 2016

The Bureau of Land Management (BoLM) is flooding the internet with mustangs.

They are pumping America’s wild horses through their internet adoptions so BoLM can strike them out and strip them of their federal protections after only 3 failed adoptions. After 3-Strikes they can become sale eligible, like Henry,. and lose their federal protections due to a loophole created by the Burns Amendment to the 1971 wild horses and burro protection act.

It doesn’t mean they are some sort of rank mustang that nobody wants. The 3-Strikes policy is all about creating a category for disposal.

Captured as a yearling in 2011, Henry has lived most of his life in the shelterless pens with distant memories of his mama and herd in the wild. . .

Poor Henry has 3-Strikes now because he wasn’t picked like all the flashy wild horses who were adopted. He’s plain but he’s sweet and just wants to be loved. Henry is so lonely and so scared. Please help Henry #9847 find a forever home!

Red Alert: Nellie Diamond (#0484) and Star Creek (#1483) are now at risk of being sold into the slaughter pipeline

Why isn’t the Bureau of Land Management making a sale to safety happen?

PM Nellie Diamond #0484 No Bidder Screen Shot 2016-08-03 at 2.17.51 AM

PM Nellie Diamond #0484 PVC 3-Strikes

Many people have shown interest in buying 6-year-old Nellie Diamond (#0484) but she still has no bid listed on her page and the auction is over. Is the BoLM returning email inquiries and phone calls? She can be adopted or sold. With sale the purchaser gets title of her immediately. With adoption she can be returned to BoLM if the adopter wants to. Of course then she would have another strike . . . Might be best to get her to a sanctuary with her friend Star Creek (#1483). The pair would only cost $50 and 2 lives would be saved.

Star Creek (#1483) is a sweet 6-yr-old mare from Fish Creek, NV who was rounded up last year to forcibly drug the mares with Pesticide PZP– made from slaughterhouse pig ovaries. Now Star Creek has 3-Strikes from failed adoptions and is another RED ALERT wild horse now at-risk!

This lovely wild mare wasn’t picked because she’s ‘plain” even though she seems very sweet with a special star. Now she’s at risk of being sold to a horse trader who might sell her to a kill-buyer for slaughter.

Mary Diamond (#0144) has 3 strikes and is for sale!

UPDATE Monday August 1, 2016: Nellie Diamond has a bidder. We will let you know if for any reason her sale is not completed. Thank you everyone for sharing! Congrats to Nellie Diamond’s bidder!

PM Mary Diamond #0144 3-Strikes

Mary Diamond (#0144) was rounded up and captured in 2013. She was separated from her mama too early for a wild horse and lost her entire family–she was still nursing. Mary Diamond has spent most of her life in captivity. Her memories of living in the wild with her mama bring her comfort when she is sad. She has been offered for adoption at least 3 times and now is going for sale because nobody picked her. That’s what happens when a wild horse get’s 3-Strikes from the Bureau of Land Management. Please SAVE Mary Diamond from a horrible fate if she falls into the wrong hands.

Nellie Diamond (#0484) has 3-Strikes and BoLM is offering her for Sale

It’s not her fault she wasn’t picked! Help Nellie Diamond (#0484) find a safe home.

PM 3-Strike Nellie Diamond 10620484 for Sale

Nellie Diamond (#0484) is on the Internet Adoption and offered for sale $25. She seems to have been deeply hurt by losing her home and her herd after the Bureau of Land Management (BoLM) roundup 3 years ago. No one is taking the time to see beyond her loneliness. Nellie Diamond might do well with a sister mustang from her herd–the Diamonds out of Nevada. Once she is treated with love, patience and respect Nellie will shine like a Diamond too.

Here is the online application: https://www.blm.gov/adoptahorse/howtoadopt.php

Nellie can be shipped out to any of the locations listed below for free and then you need to transport her home from there.

Diamond Complex Herd Management Areas

The Complex involves three HMAs, and areas outside of HMAs: the Diamond HMA is managed by the Battle Mountain District, the Diamond Hills North HMA by the Elko District and the Diamond Hills South (and areas outside of HMA boundaries) by the Ely District. Because the wild horses move around the HMAs across the Diamond Mountain Range, the three Districts work together to manage the Complex, according to BoLM.
